Why
should I be a member of the Merchants Association of
Gretna?
Let us take a moment to tell you about our mission. We want to enhance the Gretna community by offering events that attract new people into town and expose them to the area and its businesses. We organize the Old Timers’ Jubilee in October and the annual Christmas parade as well as co-chair the 2nd Annual Bluegrass Festival which will be held in July this year. All of our events have been attended by hundreds- many of your customers or potential customers. In addition, we hold an annual banquet at which we honor a Gretna business and citizen of the year.
None of these events are geared for fundraising, but rather they are community services for the enjoyment of our residents and the exposure of our town and surrounding area. Of course, it takes funding and volunteer labor to market and carry out these events.
Please consider a membership to our organization. Your financial contribution will go directly to support our program of work and your business will be recognized as a member of our organization on our website and any future printed media. In addition, you will receive a membership decal to show your commitment to the merchants and residents of Gretna and will have networking benefits when you attend our monthly meetings and/or serve as a volunteer at any of our events. Everyone is encouraged to participate as little or as much as they would like. Our meeting schedule for 2011 is as follows:

January, February, March and April - we meet at Crossroad's Restaurant at noon.

May, June, July and August - we meet at Mama Rosa's Restaurant at noon.

September, October and November - we meet at C & E's Restaurant at noon.

December is our annual banquet catered by C & E's Restaurant - date, place and time TBA
Come join us for lunch (Dutch treat). We try to keep our meetings to one hour, discussing business while we dine.
Your membership will be an investment in your business and our community! We offer business memberships at $35 and individual membership at $10. A membership will cover March 2012 through February 2013. We think it’s a great deal for the money! Share this information with other members of our business community, as memberships are welcome throughout the year.
